DWAYNE JOHNSON ANNOUNCES ‘BLACK ADAM’ WILL START PRODUCTION JULY 2020

Dwayne Johnson announced production on Black Adam will begin in July 2020.
On Twitter, Johnson responded to a sculptor who created a piece that depicted the Jumanji star as Black Adam. “Very cool man, thank you. Amazing detail,” he wrote. “This project has been with me for over 10 years. Production begins this July. Appreciate the support.”

A film starring the longtime antihero and Shazam Family antagonist has been in development since early 2000, though it hit several production snags along the way. It recently signed Jaume Collet-Serra to direct the film, reuniting him with Johnson after the two previously worked together on the upcoming Jungle Cruise for Disney.
Black Adam was hinted at in this year’s Shazam!, though he was never clearly shown on screen. A flashback suggested Black Adam was the Council of Wizards’ former champion, who was exiled after betraying those who had granted him his power.
